Autumn 2017: The weather has cleared, the sun shines bright and the beaches are beautiful! The damages and ravages of Hurricanes Irma and Maria have indeed left a mark here, yet an incredible resilience and positivity is everywhere evident. Both storms came through the country with varying degrees of severity but, most importantly, no lives were lost in either storm. And amazingly, much of TCI is undamaged at all or incurred only limited damages. Across the Turks & Caicos Islands everyone bustling with activity and life is quickly moving forward. Strong community spirit lifts up all our hearts each day as we bend to the tasks of clean up and repair.

Although Provo was hit quite hard by Hurricane Irma, there was no impact from Hurricane Maria. While many homes were damaged there are large areas of Provo which survived the storms with minimal impact. People are busy moving forward with their lives, full of confidence and hope for a great 2017-18 tourist season.

North & Middle Caicos were extraordinarily lucky in both storms. The overall impact of the two hurricanes on was much less than on any other island in TCI. The causeway between Middle & North Caicos holds up well, providing the link beloved by all. Each island has the capacity to generate its own power leaving the overall population in good shape.
